Proximity to family, household composition and structure have been studied and described as outcomes themselves and as explanatory factors in a diverse range of disciplines including nutrition, childhood vaccination, poverty, education, evolutionary biology, criminology, child abuse, transportation and tourism.The Family network and household composition datasets pull together data on household structure, proximity to kin, population density, and other socio-demographic factors for all HDSS members for specific snapshots in time. The datasets can be created for any time point: the dataset described here is from a mid-year snapshot (15 June) for all the years each participant was present.
